Breaks and working time
Include breaks in the calculation
A break is part of the working day, but it does not always count in the same way. Review working time and breaks together so employees and managers can understand the hours.
- Distinguish paid and unpaid breaks
- See how breaks count according to your organisation's setup.
- Use your break rules
- Breaks can be added to the shift or come from the rules you have configured.
- See the hours after breaks
- Review the deduction alongside the start and finish before approval.

When something needs a second look
Resolve what is missing
A colleague can forget to clock out during a busy closing shift. Find the record, clarify the finish time and make the correction while the working day is still fresh in mind.
- Find the unfinished record
- Follow up when a clock-out is missing or needs review.
- Correct it with an explanation
- An authorised manager can adjust the record and add a reason.
- Keep the history
- Original clock events and the manager's correction remain separate.

From working hours to payroll preparation
Move forward with reviewed hours
Once the hours have been reviewed, they need to be useful for the next step. Approve working time with breaks and corrections, then bring the data together in the period's payroll report.
- Finish the review
- Check variances and corrections before approval.
- Keep recording and approval separate
- Saving a clock event does not, on its own, approve the hours.
- Prepare the payroll data
- Use reviewed hours in payroll reports and your payroll process.

Questions about time tracking and time clocks
Find answers about clock-in, breaks, corrections and approval of working hours.
Yes. Employees can clock in and out in the app or on a configured and paired shared device using a kiosk PIN. Kiosk access requires Plus or Pro and the relevant setup.
A manager with the required access can review and correct the record. A provisional automatic clock-out also needs review before the hours are approved.
Breaks follow your organisation’s setup and may be paid or unpaid. Managers review breaks alongside time records so it is clear which hours go into payroll preparation.
Depending on your setup, GPS can be required at clock-in. Browser clock-in can also be restricted to approved public IP addresses. This network check is not enforced in the native mobile app. Clock-in requirements do not block clock-out.
A manager reviews variances, breaks and corrections before approving the hours for payroll preparation. Timesheets, approval and payroll reports require Plus or Pro.
